Bike Safety Rodeo

Our Bike Safety Rodeo is held every year in May at Wilson Farm Park with our safety partners from Tredyffrin Township Police Department, Paoli Hospital and Keswick Cycle.  At this event,  we teach children, ages 3-13, how to ride through the following stations: slow and steady, quick and stop, balance, hand signals, figure eight and the serpentine.

Once the kids are registered, we take their picture for their bicycle driver’s license which they receive after completing the course.  We also fit all of the kids with bicycle helmets prior to riding.  If they don’t have one or they outgrew theirs, Safe Kids Chester County provides a helmet.  There is also the opportunity to stop at the bike maintenance station to make sure their bike is in proper working condition, it is the right size bike to fit the child, and have their brakes and tires checked before beginning their ride through the stations.
